Unruly activities will not be tolerated: PM Oli

Prime Minister (PM) KP Oli has accused certain factions of attempting to divide the Nepali populace and incite chaos and communal hatred under various pretexts.

Speaking during the convocation ceremony of the Armed Police Force, held today in Kathmandu, Prime Minister Oli stated that lawless activities will not be tolerated.

“We will not allow chaotic and illegal activities to succeed,” he asserted.

RSP Vice Chair Aryal holds discussion with Home Minister amid Lamichhane’s custody

While Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chairman Rabi Lamichhane remains in police custody, the party’s Vice Chairman DP Aryal met with Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak on Monday evening.

Aryal, who is informally leading the RSP, shared details about a planned movement centered on Baluwatar and Maitighar, stating, “We are organizing a movement focused in Baluwatar, and I informed the Home Minister about this.”

When asked whether the meeting addressed Chairman Lamichhane’s situation, Aryal responded, “Let’s not discuss that now; our focus was on the Baluwatar-centered movement. I emphasized that the government should not interfere with our peaceful protests.”

Nearly two dozen RSP supporters arrested in Baluwatar

Police have arrested nearly two dozen leaders and cadres of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) during a protest in Baluwatar.

Kabindra Burlakoti, the party’s Acting General Secretary, stated that around two dozen individuals were detained while participating in a demonstration in Baluwatar in Kathmandu on Tuesday.

The protest, which began today, was organized to oppose political retribution, injustice, hardship, and corruption.

Corruption allegations filled against Prachanda and 12 others 

A complaint has been filed with the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) on Tuesday, demanding an investigation into alleged embezzlement of funds allocated for Maoist fighters stationed in temporary camps during the peace process.

The complaint, lodged by Yubaraj Paudel ‘Safal,’ accuses 13 individuals, including Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda,’ the Chair of CPN Maoist Centre, as well as Deputy General Secretaries Barshaman Pun Ananta and Janardan Sharma Prabhakar.

Other names listed in the complaint include former Vice President Nanda Bahadur Pun, and former commanders of the Maoist army such as Chakra Pani Khanal.

6,155 depositors fully refunded in problematic cooperatives: Minister Balaram Adhikari

The Problematic Cooperative Management Committee,  has reported that deposits have been fully refunded to 6,155 depositors so far.

At a program held in Kathmandu on Tuesday, Minister of Land Management, Cooperatives, and Poverty Alleviation Balaram Adhikari announced that 1.48 billion rupees has been refunded to these depositors from troubled cooperatives.

Additionally, partial refunds exceeding 30 million rupees have been issued to 438 depositors.

ANFA to sell tickets directly for SAFF Women’s Championship final 

The All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) has decided to sell tickets directly for the SAFF Women’s Championship final match, citing security concerns.

ANFA made the announcement during a press conference in Kathmandu on Tuesday.

Tickets will be available on Wednesday at Jawalakhel Ground, the ANFA Complex in Satdobato, and outside the Army Headquarters gate in Bhadrakali.
