KATHMANDU: Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak has said training and applications of technologies as per the demand of time are warranted to deal with security challenges.
In his address to the graduation ceremony (basic training) for the Armed Police Force (APF) inspectors at the National APF Training Academy in Matatirtha today, the Minister said that enriching the APF technologically is the priority of the government and the Ministry is working accordingly.
The Home Ministry is making efforts to strengthen the APF with the management of an additional workforce and further infrastructure enhancement by ensuring necessary logistics, he added.
The Minister pledged that the Ministry will leave no stone unturned to facilitate making policy provisions and implement them to strengthen the organisation.
Minister was of the view that the democratic culture and the rule of law would be established provided that each member of security agencies could dedicate themselves to the promotion of human rights and the fulfillment of given duties and responsibilities being confined within the Constitution and the existing acts/laws.
He also applauded the APF for producing a skilled workforce, promising to develop the APF as a specialized service.
As he said, a bill in this regard will be presented in the parliament’s upcoming session.
He also acknowledged the contribution of the APF to the promotion of sports sectors nationally and internationally. –
