Dengue cases surge past 28,000; 12 fatalities reported

KATHMANDU: The number of dengue infections in the country has surpassed 28,000, with 12 reported fatalities.

According to the latest data from the Epidemiology and Disease Control Division (EDCD), the total number of infected individuals has reached 28,212.

In Bagmati Province, 9,132 cases have been confirmed, while Lumbini Province has reported 1,445 infections. Additionally, Sudurpaschim has recorded 1,189 cases.

In Kaski District alone, there have been 7,161 reported infections.

This data reflects the situation as of the second week of January.

According to the EDCD, dengue has been reported in 76 of the 77 districts nationwide.
