KATHMANDU: The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has organized the sale of locally produced flowers at 46 locations for Tihar, Nepal Sambat, and Chhath festivals.
To promote domestic flower trade, the sale and distribution of plastic flowers and decorative materials has been banned.
Last year, flower sales were arranged at Bhrikutimandap, Tinkune Chowk, Handigaon, and along the Balaju Bishnumati Corridor.
A vehicle from the Metropolitan Police Force was used to facilitate access to these locations.
Building on last year’s experience, this year’s efforts will focus on supporting flower-selling farmers. KMC stated.
Arrangements have been made in shopping malls, markets, parks, party venues, and community centers.
According to KMC, flower garlands will be available at arious locations, including Aarati Party Palace, Machhapokhari; Buddha Mall, Machhapokhari; Bhatbhateni in Balaju; Valley Cold Store in Balaju; Community Building in Balaju;, Dharma Chakra Park in Swayambhu; Swayambhu Mart; Bhatbhateni in Kalanki; and Kalanki Trade Centre in Kalanki.
Likeise, other locations include SNS in Kalanki; NBTC in Kalanki; Nepa Banquet in Khushibu; Big Mart in Kaldhara; Salt Trading Corporation in Kalimati; Kathmandu Mall in Sundhara; Civil Mall in Sundhara; CTC Mall in Sundhara; and Ranjana Mall, New Road.
Other locatiosn include Big Mart Complex in Anamnagar; AT Complex in New Plaza; Bhatbhateni in Anamnagar; IT Plaza in Kamaladi; Sankata Chowk in Tewal; KL Tower in Chabahil; NB Centre in New Baneshwar; Phoenix Tower in Battisputali; Chabahil Football Chowk; Chabahil Ganesh Place; Big Mart in Shankhamul; BBSM in Koteshwar; Siphal Chowk in Siphal; KTM Party Palace; and Nirakal Complex in Shankhamul.
Similarly, other locations include AC Complex, Chabahil; Bhatbhateni in Koteswar; Bhatbhateni in Naxal; Big Marg in Baluwatar; Sales Berry in Maharajgunj; Bhatbhateni in Maharajgunj; Koirala Mart in Samakhushi; Big Mart in Samakhushi; City Centre in Kamalpokhari; Lhotse Mall in Balaju and Sasha Banquet in Sohrakhutte.
Additionally, indigenous flower traders can choose their preferred sales locations.
Traders have been urged not to sell or distribute plastic flowers or decorative materials.
Those found violating this directive will face legal action. Consumers are encouraged to support local farmers by purchasing indigenous flowers.
