NEPSE declines by 23.81 points on Wednesday

KATHMANDU: The budget for the upcoming fiscal year 2081–82 failed to ignite enthusiasm in the share market.

On the second day after the budget announcement, NEPSE plummeted by 23.81 points to settle at 2089.42 points.

In today’s pre-open session, NEPSE increased by 20 points but later dropped by 1.12 percent.

A total of 10,738,159 shares worth Rs 4,575,063,000 were transacted on Wednesday.

During today’s trading, the share prices of 56 companies rose, while the prices of 191 companies fell.

The sensitive index fell by 4.82 points, the float index by 2.17 points, and the sensitive float index by 2.36 points. Investors across various groups also suffered losses today.

Among the 13 groups, the Life Insurance group saw the highest decline, falling by 134.64 points. In contrast, the Production group saw the highest increase in share prices, rising by 170.01 points.

Unilever Nepal, Kalinchowk Darshan, Madhyamanchal Hydroelectricity, and Bhagwati Hydropower Company experienced positive circuit breaks, each increasing by 10 percent.
