Minister of Finance Pun announces formation of economic reform commission



KATHMANDU: Finance Minister Barshaman Pun unveiled plans for a comprehensive economic overhaul in Nepal through the establishment of a dedicated commission.

Speaking at a press conference at the Ministry of Finance on Wednesday, Pun emphasized that this initiative aims to streamline and enhance the nation’s economic landscape.

Pun underscored the meticulous research and analysis that preceded the budget presentation, ensuring a well-informed approach.

He emphasized the collaboration between the public and private sectors, noting plans to revitalize dormant industries while fostering innovation to retain skilled labor and technological expertise within the country.

Recognizing the imperative for a new phase of reform, Pun affirmed the government’s commitment to prioritizing this agenda.

He acknowledged discrepancies in the current budget projections and pledged to refine them for greater coherence and effectiveness.
