Surendra Pandey to be appointed Chief Minister in Gandaki today



POKHARA: Nepali Congress (NC) Parliamentary Party leader Surendra Pandey is being appointed as the Chief Minister of Gandaki Province today.

A bench of Supreme Court justices Kumar Regmi and Sunil Kumar Pokharel on Monday ordered the appointment of Pandey as the Chief Minister as the leader of the largest party.

The Supreme Court announced that the vote of confidence taken by CPN-UML parliamentary party leader Khagaraj Adhikari as unconstitutional and annulled his appointment as Chief Minister.

According to Article 168 of the Constitution, the Supreme Court issued a mandate to appoint Pandey as the Chief Minister within 48 hours.
