President Paudel for substantial participation of women in politics

KATHMANDU: President Ram Chandra Paudel has emphasized the imperative of women’s equal, meaningful, and dignified involvement in political, social, and judicial spheres.

On the 6th National Women’s Rights Day, he reiterated the necessity for collective action to ensure women’s substantive participation across all domains. Paudel urged for societal transformation towards gender equality, emphasizing the need for safety, respect, and rights for Nepali women through positive social changes.

The day, celebrated under the theme ‘Our Campaign: Respect for Self-dependent Daughters,’ prompted Paudel to express gratitude to those who championed women’s rights in Nepal.

Despite policy efforts, Paudel highlighted persistent disparities faced by women socially, culturally, educationally, politically, and economically, underscoring the need for rectification.

Furthermore, he advocated for the complete safety of women in workplaces, educational institutions, public spaces, and within homes.
