Police ordered for audio investigation

KATHMANDU: The Supreme Court has directed Yuvaraj Kandel, the publisher of ‘Sidhakura.com,’ to provide a statement in connection with the publication of ‘The Dark File,’ allegedly fabricated to defame the judiciary.

The order was issued on Monday, summoning Kandel and Executive Editor Navin Dhungana to present their statements.

The division bench, comprising Justices Nahakul Subedi and Tek Prasad Dhungana, directed the publisher and Executive Editor to appear for their statements.

Previously, a lawsuit had been filed against publisher Kandel in connection with the publication of ‘The Dark File,’ allegedly fabricated to defame the judiciary.

The SC also instructed the police to investigate the technical aspects of the audio publicly released by ‘Siddhakura.com’ under the name ‘The Dark File.’

In the meantime, the publication and broadcast of news from the series ‘The Dark File’ have been suspended.
