Nagarik Unmukti directs to withdraw support given to Sudurpaschim govt

KATHMANDU: The Nagarik Unmukti Party has directed the parliamentary party of the Sudurpaschim province to withdraw its support from the government led by the Nepali Congress.

Chairperson of Nagarik Unmukti, Ranjita Shrestha, instructed Ghanashyam Chaudhary, the leader of the Sudurpaschim parliamentary party, to retract their support and exit the government.

Chairperson Shrestha has urged the provincial party leadership to adhere to the decisions made during the party’s meeting on March 27.

She warned of disciplinary action if the directives are not followed.

Nagarik Unmukti is currently facing significant internal discord regarding the formation of a new coalition.

While Resham Chaudhary, one of the party’s founding members, has expressed reservations about joining the new coalition, Chairperson Shrestha has shown her support for it.

Moreover, Nagarik Unmukti has expressed its vote of confidence in Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ at the federal level, and Chairperson Shrestha aims to extend this coalition to the provincial level as well.
