KATHMANDU: Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chair Rabi Lamichhane has been brought to Kathmandu from Pokhara.

Supporters and party members chanted slogans during his transfer at Tribhuvan International Airport.

Lamichhane, who was in the custody of the Kaski District Police Office, was flown to Kathmandu after initially being transported to Pokhara via land following his arrest on October 18.

He was brought back to the capital 41 days later for questioning regarding the alleged embezzlement of savings from the Swarnalaxmi Cooperative in Kalimati.

The Kathmandu District Court had already issued an arrest warrant against Lamichhane and his associate Chhabilal Joshi in connection with the case.

Lamichhane, a former Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister, arrived in Kathmandu on a Buddha Air flight at 5:30 PM and has been placed in the custody of the Kathmandu District Police Office.

Meanwhile, Joshi was brought to Kathmandu for questioning last week and later returned to Kaski Police custody.
