KMG Chairman Sirohiya airlifted to Kathmandu’s Mediciti Hospital

KATHMANDU: Kailash Sirohiya, Chairman of Kantipur Media Group (KMG), has been airlifted to Kathmandu for medical treatment from Janakpur.

His health took a downturn, necessitating an airlift via Simrik Air helicopter from Dhanusha to Mediciti Hospital in Lalitpur on Tuesday afternoon.

Sirohiya, who has been in police custody since May 21, was flown to the hospital, departing from the previous transportation by car from Kathmandu to Janakpur when he was initially arrested.

Confirming the transfer, Dhanusha police spokesperson DSP Ranjan Abha said Sirohiya was airlifted to Mediciti Hospital.

Sirohiya has been under medical care for the past five days.

Initially admitted to Kavya Hospital in Janakpur on May 25 due to health complications during his custody under the Dhanusha District Police Office, he was subsequently moved to Janakpur Provincial Hospital last Friday evening due to high blood pressure, heart rate fluctuations, and headaches.

Family sources indicate Sirohiya’s ongoing health challenges, including diabetes and hypertension.
