Body of youth who jumped off Chisapani Bridge recovered



KAILALI: The lifeless body of Lokendra Shahi, 30, from Lamki Chuha Municipality-3 in Kailali district, was discovered around 4 PM today after he went missing following a jump from the Chisapani bridge into the Karnali River.

Kuldip Chand, Spokesperson of the District Police Office, Kailali, confirmed the recovery of Shahi’s body from the Sankattighat area of Tikapur Municipality.

Shahi had disappeared in the river on Monday while enjoying the Holi festival.

Following the incident, search operations involving divers, Nepal Police, and Armed Police Force personnel were immediately launched.

It was reported that Shahi and 16 other youths had gathered at the bridge to celebrate Holi and had jumped into the river for fun, with Shahi tragically losing his life in the process.
