RPP picks Laxmi Gurung as candidate for Ilam 2 by-election

KATHMANDU: The Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) has announced Laxmi Gurung as its candidate for the upcoming House of Representatives by-election in Ilam 2.

RPP spokesperson Mohan Shrestha stated that the decision to nominate Gurung was made during the party’s parliamentary committee meeting held on Thursday.

Citing Gurung’s understanding of local geography and awareness of people’s issues, RPP expressed confidence in her candidacy.

Following the passing of CPN-UML lawmaker Subash Chandra Nemwang, the incumbent House of Representatives member for Ilam-2, by-elections are scheduled for April 27.
