Dr. KC warns of intense protest to expedite TRC Bill in parliament



KATHMANDU: Dr. Govinda KC, a campaigner for medical education reform, has urged for the swift implementation of the Bill for the Amendment of the Investigation of Enforced Disappeared Persons, Truth and Reconciliation Commission Act (2014), widely referred to as the transitional justice (TRC) bill.

In a press release on Wednesday, Dr. KC warned of initiating a strong movement to expedite the TRC Bill, which has been pending for a long time.

Dr. KC, holding those accountable for heinous crimes against humanity during the armed conflict responsible, emphasized the need to bring justice to the families of the deceased, injured, and disappeared individuals promptly through the expedited TRC process.

He also suggested promptly fulfilling the demands raised by the general public and implementing previously agreed-upon accords.
