MoU signed to boost Nepal’s dairy sector



KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Heifer International Nepal to enhance the country’s dairy sector.

The agreement was signed by Dr Rajendra Prasad Yadav, Executive Director of the National Dairy Development Board, on behalf of the government, and Dr Teeth Regmi, Head of Heifer International Nepal.

Under the MoU, Heifer will assist the Agriculture Ministry in diversifying raw milk production, upgrading laboratory facilities, and fostering collaboration with the Provincial Dairy Development Board.

Keshav Sah, Program Director of Heifer International, highlighted the significance of the MoU, stating it will play a vital role in advancing Nepal’s dairy industry.

The event was attended by D. Umesh Dahal, Director General of the Department of Animal Services, along with other officials and stakeholders.
