Bagmati Province reports 60 deaths in road accidents in three months

KATHMANDU: A total of 60 people have died, and 1,030 others were injured in road accidents across 10 districts of Bagmati Province in the first three months of the current financial year 2023/24.

According to the Nepal Police Highway Safety and Traffic Management Office in Chitwan, there were 397 recorded road accidents during this period.

During these months, traffic police collected Rs 27.9 million in revenue from traffic rule violators.

A total of 35,085 drivers were fined for violating traffic regulations from mid-August to mid-October.

Additionally, traffic police are monitoring vehicle speeds using CCTV and radar guns installed along the East-West highway.
