KATHMANDU: Sayyid Badr bin Hamad bin Hamood Albusaidi, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Oman, paid a courtesy visit to President Ramchandra Paudel at the Rastrapati Bhawan, Sheetal Niwas, today.
During the meeting, President Paudel suggested that establishing an Omani embassy in Kathmandu would benefit both countries, given the growing number of Nepalis working in Oman.
He also proposed that direct air connectivity between the two nations could facilitate trade, boost tourism, and strengthen people-to-people relations, as reported by President’s Press Adviser Kiran Pokharel.
In response, Foreign Minister Albusaidi expressed his government’s openness to the idea of opening an Omani embassy in Nepal and establishing direct air links.
He praised the contributions of Nepali workers to Oman’s development, describing them as calm, gentle, and hardworking.
Foreign Minister Albusaidi arrived in Nepal on Monday for a two-day official visit.
