Madhes CM Yadav to seek vote of confidence on June 5

JANAKPURDHAM: Madhes Province Chief Minister Saroj Kumar Yadav announced he will seek a vote of confidence on June 5.

During a conversation with reporters in Janakpur on Monday, CM Yadav stated that the budget session will commence on June 3, and he will seek the vote of confidence on June 5.

CM Yadav also mentioned that municipalities demanding conditional grants will receive funds according to the law.

“All municipal chiefs are requesting conditional grants. We are working in accordance with the duties of the provincial government,” he said.

The Chief Minister further asserted that he is not a minority chief minister.

The Madhes Provincial Assembly has 107 members, with representation from 10 parties.

Support from 54 members is needed to form the government.

In the assembly, CPN-UML has 25 members, Nepali Congress has 22, Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) Nepal has 19, Janamat Party has 13, CPN-Maoist Center has nine, Loktantrik Samajbadi Party has nine, CPN-Unified Socialist has seven, and there is one member each from Rastriya Swatantra Party, Nepal Federal Socialist Party, and Nagarik Unmukti Party.
