JANAKPURDHAM: Kailash Sirohiya, Chairman of Kantipur Media Group, reached at the Dhanusha District Court in an ambulance.

After his second detention extension, Sirohiya, citing heart problems, was released from police custody and stayed at Kavya Hospital in Janakpur.

He appeared in court on Monday afternoon and left the court after arriving in the ambulance.

Currently, the court is hearing whether to extend his detention.

He was presented for a third extension at Dhanusha Court’s Bench No. 7, presided over by Judge Yaduraj Sharma.

The three-day extension granted on Friday expired on Sunday.

Consequently, the police brought Sirohiya to court in an ambulance for a third extension.

Sirohiya was initially arrested last Tuesday on charges related to citizenship.

His detention was first extended until Friday, then for another three days until Sunday, totaling six days.

The District Public Prosecutor’s Office has requested an additional five-day extension for Sirohiya.
