Nepal secures victory over West Indies ‘A’ in inaugural T20 match, led by Captain Poudel’s century



KATHMANDU: Nepal clinched a resounding victory over West Indies ‘A’ by four wickets in the opening match of the T20 series.

Opting to bowl first after winning the toss, Nepal invited West Indies ‘A’ to take the crease.

West Indies ‘A’ managed to post a score of 204 runs, losing five wickets in their allotted 20 overs.

Roston Chase led the visitors with 74 runs, complemented by contributions from Alick Athanaze with 47 runs and Keacy Carty with 38 runs.

Nepal’s bowling attack saw Kamal Singh Airee, Dipendra Singh Airee, Rohit Poudel, and Abinash Bohara each taking one wicket.

In the second inning, Nepal successfully chased down the target in the final over with the loss of six wickets.

Captain Rohit Poudel led the charge with a remarkable century, scoring 122 runs.

Dipendra Singh Airee contributed 24 runs, while Kushal Bhurtel added 16 runs to secure Nepal’s victory.
