KATHMANDU: In the first match of the T20 series between Nepal and West Indies ‘A’, Nepal has won the toss and elected to field.
Home team captain Rohit Paudel made the decision to field first after winning the toss.
Nepal’s team, disappointed with their performance in the ACC Premier League earlier, has added four more players.
Fast bowler Kamal Singh Airee, spinner Sagar Dhakal, young batter Lokesh Bam, and wicketkeeper Vinod Bhandari have been included in the senior squad this time.
Kamal is making his debut in the series on the first day of play.
Experienced players have been included in the West Indies ‘A’ team to compete against the national team of Nepal.
West Indies has sent a team captained by 32-year-old Roston Chase for the competition against Nepal.
Captain Chase is an experienced player for West Indies. He has played 49 Test matches so far.
He has participated in 11 T20 competitions among his 45 One Day International matches.
Captain Chase is one of the most experienced players alongside vice-captain Alec Athanaze.
Athanaze has played 4 Test and 10 One Day International matches.
Players like Johnson Charles, who played in the 2016 World Cup, are also in the squad.
Nepal, preparing for the ICC T20 World Cup, has started competing against West Indies at home. This is the first time in cricket history that West Indies has visited Nepal.
