Home Minister Lamichhane denies involvement in cooperative fund misappropriation

KATHMANDU: Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane has denied any involvement in cooperative fraud, addressing concerns raised by MPs during the State Affairs and Good Governance Committee meeting of the House of Representatives, Wednesday.

In response to inquiries, Minister Lamichhane asserted that he had no association with the misappropriation of cooperative funds.

He emphasized that his name was not implicated in any court case related to the cooperative in question.

Furthermore, he clarified that only one complaint had been filed against him with the police, but even this complaint was not formally registered.

Minister Lamichhane’s statement comes amidst ongoing scrutiny and accusations surrounding the alleged mishandling of cooperative finances, where he seeks to distance himself from any wrongdoing.
