Monkeypox patient improving, informs hospital



KATHMANDU: The health condition of a 36-year-old man from Tanahun infected with monkeypox is improving, according to the Shukraraj Tropical and Infectious Diseases Hospital.

The hospital’s director, Dr Yubanidhi Basaula, said the patient is in normal condition and is being treated in isolation as per protocol.

The patient, who returned from Saudi Arabia, was diagnosed with monkeypox on December 20 and has been under medical care at the hospital since the same day.

Dr Basaula said monkeypox patients require at least three weeks of isolation for treatment. The hospital is continuing to provide care in line with this guideline.
