POKHARA: Former Member of Parliament of Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), Dhaka Kumar Shrestha has been released on bail after being accused of selling prohibited drugs. He was granted release on a bail amount of NPR 75,000.

Shrestha was arrested on Bhadra 27, and the Kaski District Court ordered his release on bail on Thursday.

Following the court’s directive, he has submitted the bail amount and is now free.

The police apprehended Shrestha based on the statements of Prakash Thapa, a 42-year-old man from Pokhara Metropolitan City-4, who was arrested with 97 tablets of prohibited narcotics.

During interrogation, Thapa revealed that the tablets were purchased from Shrestha’s Diya Pharmacy located in Prithvi Chowk, Pokhara Metropolitan City-9, prompting the police to take action against Shrestha.
