KATHMANDU: Bangladesh has secured a spot in the final of the SAFF U-20 Championship after a dramatic victory over the defending champions, India.
On Monday, Bangladesh triumphed over India in a penalty shootout, with a final score of 4-3.
The match, held at the Satdobato ground in Kathmandu, ended in a 1-1 draw after regular time, necessitating the shootout to determine the winner.
This result guarantees a new champion for this edition of the tournament, as India, the reigning title holder from the previous edition, was defeated by Bangladesh.
In a thrilling twist, Bangladesh avenged their previous loss to India, setting the stage for a final showdown against Nepal.
Nepal, who had already secured their place in the final by defeating Bhutan in a penalty shootout during the first semi-final on Sunday, will now face Bangladesh in the title clash on Wednesday.
