Protection of multiculturalism strengthens social unity: Madhav Nepal



KATHMANDU: Unified Socialist chairman Madhav Kumar Nepal has said that the traditional culture of all communities in the country should be protected.

Conveying best wishes on the occasion of Krishna Janmashtami and Gaura Parva (festival), on Monday he said that through the preservation of such festivals and culture, the society will unite and help in building a well-cultured nation.

Leader Nepal, mentioned that in a country with multi-ethnic, multi-religious, multilingual and multicultural characteristics, the festivals which are traditionally celebrated by all ethnic communities will enhance social unity to further strengthen harmony and fraternity in the country.

Stating that festivals and cultures of all castes and communities enhance the nation’s pride, he expressed his belief that mutual respect, coexistence, harmony and unity will strengthen national integrity by ending social inequality.

Former Prime Minister Nepal expressed the idea that Gaura Parva, which is specially celebrated in the Far West region, will foster a sense of unity and tolerance in the culturally-diverse Nepali society.
