KATHMANDU: President Ram Chandra Paudel has stated that Shree Krishna Janmastami inspires us to engage in virtuous actions by promoting religious tolerance and goodwill.

In his message for Shree Krishna Janmastami, President Paudel wished that this festival encourages Nepalis to build a cultured and harmonious society through mutual respect, compassion, and friendliness.

The President emphasized the festival’s significance, noting that Hindus worldwide celebrate this day with great devotion, commemorating the birth of Lord Krishna, the pioneer of Bhakti Yoga, Jnana Yoga, and Karma Yoga.

Lord Krishna was born to Vasudev and Devaki as their eighth child at midnight on Bhadra Shukla Ashtami during the Vedic Dwapar era.

Additionally, President Paudel acknowledged the Gaura festival, especially celebrated in the far western regions of Nepal, for its vital role in strengthening cultural and religious harmony. On this day, devotees fast and worship Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati.

The Head of State expressed hopes that this day inspires everyone to contribute to harmony within families, society, and the nation.

He also extended his wishes for peace and prosperity to all Nepalis on this auspicious occasion.
