One person killed, two injured in Okhaldhunga landslide



OKHALDHUNGA: A landslide in Okhaldhunga early this morning resulted in the death of one person and left two others injured.

Police Inspector Bijay Karki of the District Police Office reported that Devkumari Khatri, 35, died when a landslide destroyed her house in Thumki of Chisankhugadhi Rural Municipality-5.

Devkumari’s husband, Baburam Khatri, 39, and their daughter, Menuka, 18, were seriously injured in the incident.

The injured were rescued with the help of a police team deployed from Serna Police Post, along with the locals, and have been taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

The landslide buried a house and a shed.
