RCB clinch second win in IPL 2024 with commanding victory over SRH

KATHMANDU: In a dazzling display of batting prowess and disciplined bowling, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) secured their second win of the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season, triumphing over Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by 35 runs at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad.

From the outset, RCB’s intent was clear as Faf du Plessis and Virat Kohli initiated a blistering assault on the SRH bowlers. Du Plessis’ aggressive stroke play and Kohli’s masterful finesse set the tone for RCB’s formidable total of 206 runs.

Despite a brief setback with du Plessis’ departure, Rajat Patidar emerged as the driving force behind RCB’s innings, showcasing a breathtaking display of power-hitting that included four consecutive sixes off Mayank Markande.

In a significant milestone, Jaydev Unadkat, playing his 100th TATA IPL match, delivered a pivotal spell for SRH, denting RCB’s progress in the middle overs with crucial wickets.

However, RCB’s dominance persisted with Cameron Green’s explosive cameo, propelling them past the 200-run mark and ensuring a daunting target for SRH.

In response, SRH faltered under RCB’s relentless bowling assault, with Karn Sharma’s crafty spin accounting for key wickets. Despite Pat Cummins’ valiant effort and Shahbaz Ahmed’s resilience, SRH succumbed to RCB’s pressure, falling short of the target as the game reached its conclusion.

RCB’s comprehensive victory underscores their formidable form in the IPL 2024 season, reaffirming their status as strong contenders for the title.
