SC verdict on B&C Medical College permission could spark anarchy: Dr Govinda KC

KATHMANDU: Medical education advocate Dr. Govinda KC has raised concerns over the Supreme Court’s decision regarding entrepreneur Durga Prasai’s B&C Medical College.

With the formal text of the decision not yet released, Dr. KC worries that it could trigger chaos in the medical education sector.

“This decision strikes at the heart of medical education laws, and if it undermines the authority of the Medical Education Commission, it could lead to chaos in the medical education sector and endanger public health,” remarked Dr. KC, emphasizing, “We will not tolerate any actions that violate the law.”

On Monday, a bench comprising Justice Kumar Chudal and Saranga Subedi directed authorities to facilitate the registration of Prasai’s medical college.

However, Dr. KC hinted at the possibility of seeking judicial review in the matter.
