Alcohol advertisement boards removed from Sonu Nigam concert venue

KATHMANDU: Advertisement boards promoting alcoholic beverages placed near the venue for the “Sonu Nigam Live in Nepal” concert at Hyatt Ground, Tusal, Boudha, have been removed by Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC).

The KMC police has dismantled 150 unauthorized boards on Wednesday, ahead of the event.

According to Mayor Balen Shah’s secretariat, the action was taken as part of the city’s policy to regulate alcohol-related advertisements.

Sonu Nigam arrived in Nepal on Wednesday for the concert, which is organized by Nepali Touch Nepal.

Director Abhinash Ghimire stated that Nigam is a highly sought-after singer and was invited because of his ability to perform Nepali songs as well.

The concert will take place at Hyatt Ground, which has a capacity of 12,000 attendees.
