Govt approves Rs 360 million contract for High Government Attorney’s Office in Patan

KATHMANDU: The government has granted a multi-year contract agreement for the construction of a new office building for the High Government Attorney’s Office in Patan, Lalitpur.

The Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, under the leadership of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, sent a letter to the National Planning Commission (NPC) requesting approval for the Rs 360 million project.

After deliberations, the NPC approved the proposal during its weekly meeting on December 19.

According to the commission, the Ministry of Finance has already allocated the Rs 360 million resource agreement in the budget for the current fiscal year 2024-25 to support the project.

Additionally, the meeting declared the building construction project at Shree Kalika Secondary School, Nade Dharapani, Gurbhakot Municipality-3, Surkhet, as a national priority initiative.

The Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration had earlier sent a formal request to the NPC seeking the possession rights to 6 ropani (approximately 0.305 hectares) of land for the project’s implementation.

The project aims to enhance the infrastructure supporting the legal and judicial functions of the government, ensuring more efficient operations in the High Government Attorney’s Office in Patan.
