Prachanda’s Secretariat dubs Mishra’s claims “fabricated”

KATHMANDU: The Secretariat of Maoist Center Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda has dismissed remarks made by Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) leader Rabindra Mishra regarding their recent meeting, asserting that Mishra’s comments are unfounded and fabricated.

Ramesh Malla, Prachanda’s personal secretary, stated that there is no truth to Mishra’s claims.

Following a meeting between Prachanda and Mishra on Tuesday, Mishra posted seven points on Facebook, suggesting a dialogue with Prachanda.

However, Malla emphasized that Prachanda expressed, “I have not yet reached the position of agreeing with your opinion. But there is something to think about when you sleep at night,” and noted the necessity of continuity amidst disorder.

Malla further clarified that Mishra’s Facebook comments misrepresented the views of the former Prime Minister, who played a pivotal role in establishing a federal democratic republic in Nepal.

“He has led the creation of peace and the constitution, and he is now committed to guiding the country toward socialism through good governance, social justice, and prosperity,” Malla stated.

He also questioned whether some Nepalis remain confused about the country’s decline and the suffering of its people under the autocratic Panchayat and monarchical systems.

Mishra on Tuesday held talks with Pushpa Kamal Dahal “Prachanda”, Chairman of the Maoist Center.

Following their discussion at Prachanda’s residence in Khumaltar, Mishra shared a photo of the meeting and expressed his views on the monarchy.

Mishra stated that the country has reached a critical juncture where, without the restoration of the monarchy, it risks heading towards chaos.

“If the monarchy is not restored, this country will head towards a state of explosion. At that time, nothing will remain of your progress, name, and legacy,” Mishra told Prachanda.

Mishra highlighted seven key points from their conversation, emphasizing that Prachanda believes the current situation is untenable.

According to Mishra, Prachanda reflected on the positive aspects of the Panchayat era, calling King Mahendra a “visionary.”
