Nepal’s performance against South Africa inspired us: Rashid Khan

KATHMANDU: Afghanistan cricket team captain Rashid Khan praised Nepal’s outstanding performance in the ICC T20 World Cup.

In a press conference following the match against Bangladesh, Rashid Khan remarked that Nepal had delivered commendable performances throughout the tournament.

He stated, “Nepal, a relatively new team in cricket, played exceptionally well in the World Cup. They strongly fought against all the teams in their group.”

Rashid further noted that Nepal’s ability to challenge a strong team like South Africa provided inspiration and encouragement to his own team.

“Seeing a team defend a small target teaches us a lot. Nepal’s performance in the tournament was remarkable. This is T20 cricket, and in this format, having the confidence that we can defeat any team is crucial,” he said.

Meanwhile, Afghanistan has reached the T20 World Cup semifinals for the first time after defeating Bangladesh.
