Jhapa Office collects over 850 million rupees revenue in 11 months

BHADRAPUR: The Transport Management Office in Jhapa has collected revenue amounting to Rs 857,554,589 over the past eleven months of the current fiscal year.

In the month of Jestha alone, the office collected Rs 62,440,417 in revenue.

Acting Chief of the office, Baburam Sharma Luitel, reported that by the end of Jestha in the current fiscal year, revenue collections included Rs 697,789,779 from vehicle taxes, Rs 17,993,183 from administrative service fees, and Rs 141,688,167 from vehicle registration and driver’s license fees.

During the eleven months, 9,542 vehicles were registered and 33,119 were renewed.

Additionally, 12,322 new driver’s licenses were issued, 16,548 ownership transfers occurred, and 10,263 vehicles passed their inspections.

The office also reported the registration of 6,714 motorcycles and 1,638 e-rickshaws within the same period.

The office conducts written tests for driver’s licenses four days a week and practical driving tests five days a week.
