Group posing as CIB officials loots Rs 20 million; four arrested



KATHMANDU: Police have arrested four individuals for looting Rs 20 million from Dadhikot in Bhaktapur, posing as officials of the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB).

At a press conference on Tuesday, the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office announced the arrest of Sujan Rasaili, Krishna Bahadur Bohora, and Bhim Bahadur Tamang from Sindhupalchok, and Munaraj Rai from Okhaldhunga.

The four were charged with looting from the house of Dilli Raj Raut in Bhaktapur.

Kul Bahadur Khatri, suspected to be the mastermind behind the heist, remains at large.

According to the police, Khatri recruited youths in Kathmandu seeking foreign employment to carry out the robbery.

The police have recovered Rs 3,600,000 from the arrested individuals, who had already shared the looted amount.
