CHITWAN: CPN-UML Vice Chairman Bishnu Poudel has claimed that the main opposition party Nepali Congress (NC) is destined to remain in opposition until 2084 BS.

Addressing the 11th district convention of the party in Chitwan, Poudel stated that NC would be kept in opposition and taken to the elections in that position.

“NC has always gone to elections while in power. UML has always gone to elections while in opposition. This time, NC is destined to remain in opposition until 2084 BS,” he said. “This alliance will last until the elections.”

Vice Chairman Poudel mentioned that there have been numerous attempts to break the current alliance, but they will not allow it to be broken.

“The main opposition party is anxious and restless, fearing the alliance government. They have shown undemocratic behavior in parliament, disregarding any decorum and causing chaos in the House,” he said, adding, “Democracy in the country will not be strong without weakening NC. We will defeat them in the upcoming elections.”

Poudel also claimed that NC has backed away from the agreement to form an investigation committee on cooperative fraud.

He accused NC of holding the parliament hostage and obstructing it and warned that if they (NC) do not agree to operate the parliament, they (ruling coalition) will move forward by removing the obstacles.
