KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ emphasized the identification of transformation areas for the effective implementation of development plans, stating that traditional methods alone would not suffice to achieve developmental goals.

Speaking at the concluding meeting of the National Development Council, he disclosed that 13 such areas had been pinpointed for implementation in the upcoming fiscal year.

PM Dahal highlighted the significance of addressing the major agendas and challenges outlined in the 16th periodic plan for Nepal’s development.

He stressed the importance of integrating these agendas and challenges into policies, programs, and budgets to realize the goals of good governance, social justice, and prosperity.

Additionally, he mentioned that the 16th periodic plan had accounted for necessary resources and strategies for its execution.

Acknowledging the necessity of collective responsibility, coherence among policies, programs, and budgets, and robust coordination among the three tiers of government, the Prime Minister called for support from various stakeholders, including the private sector and development agencies, to effectively implement the plan.

He also emphasized the critical importance of maintaining fiscal discipline and optimizing the use of available resources.
