Corruption case filed against nine individuals, including former Vice Chairperson of Mahawai RM

KATHMANDU: The Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has initiated corruption proceedings against nine individuals, among whom is the former Vice Chairperson, Man Raj Sahi, of Mahawai Rural Municipality in Kalikot district.

According to the CIAA, these individuals allegedly received Rs 3,876,270 more than the actual work performed, leading to the filing of a case at the Special Court.

The accused in the case include Man Raj Sahi, Chief Administration Officer Ganesh Man Singh, Engineer Rudra Wali, Sub Engineer Hari Prasad Pandey, the then Ward Chairperson Gaukala Singh, Chairman of the Consumer Group Akal Sunal, Treasurer Jam Kala Kafle, Secretary Dhadi Kami, and the Accountant of the Rural Municipality, Mali Rawat.
