President Poudel authorizes deployment of Nepal Army for by-election security



KATHMANDU: President Ram Chandra Poudel has approved the mobilization of the Nepal Army for security measures during the forthcoming by-elections.

The decision to deploy the Nepal Army for security purposes comes in response to recommendations from the National Security Council, supported by the Council of Ministers.

By-elections are slated to take place in Ilam-2 and Bhajang-1 on April 27, necessitating heightened security measures to ensure a smooth and secure electoral process.

President Poudel’s authorization of the Nepal Army’s mobilization underscores the government’s commitment to maintaining peace and security during the electoral proceedings.
