KATHMANDU: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs, Narayan Kaji Shrestha, convened a meeting with Wang Huning, Chairman of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and Member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau, on Monday.
Sources from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs disclosed that the discussions between Shrestha and Huning, attended by delegates from both Nepal and China, focused on augmenting mutual cooperation at governmental and grassroots levels.
DPM Shrestha is currently undertaking an official visit to the People’s Republic of China starting March 24, upon the invitation of Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, who is also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee.
During his stay, DPM Shrestha is scheduled to engage in bilateral discussions with Foreign Minister Wang on March 26 and participate in meetings with esteemed dignitaries in Beijing and various other provinces.
Shrestha’s visit will span until April 1, encompassing a range of diplomatic engagements aimed at strengthening ties between Nepal and China.
