Constitutional Council meeting pushed to March 31, Auditor General appointment pending

KATHMANDU: The scheduled meeting of the Constitutional Council for Monday has been postponed until March 31.

The meeting was initially set for 11 am today.

The reason for the postponement has not been disclosed. According to sources at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, the next meeting is rescheduled for March 31 at 11 am.

The meeting was intended to recommend the appointment of the Auditor General, a position that has remained vacant for an extended period.

Following Tankamani Sharma Dangal’s completion of tenure in Jestha, the Auditor General position has been unfilled.

The President appoints heads and officials of constitutional bodies based on the recommendations of the Constitutional Council.
