KATHMANDU: Responding to the second letter from the Ministry of Home Affairs, victims of usury and microfinance have decided to enter into dialogue with the government.

Sources indicate that they are planning to participate in the discussions today.

Earlier, the protesting victims had rejected the government’s proposed talks related to the first letter from the Home Ministry, deeming it impractical and inconsiderate.

However, after receiving the second letter, they have accepted it positively and expressed their readiness for dialogue.

According to Nirga Navin, the spokesperson of the committee formed to address the issues of loan-sharking victims, a seven-member talk team has been established under the leadership of Avadhesh Kushwaha, the chairman of the Farmers and Labor Struggle Committee against Loan Sharking and Fraud, to engage in discussions.

“We are ready for discussions. We have formed a talk team. Our preparations for engaging in discussions are ongoing, and we are optimistic about initiating the dialogue today,” stated Navin.

Victims of loan sharking and financial fraud from across the country have converged in Kathmandu for a peaceful sit-in at Bhrikuti Mandap.
