KATHMANDU: Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Tulsingh KC has been in custody at the Swayambhu Police Circle for the past nine days.

He was apprehended on February 17.

DSP KC, stationed in Pokhara, was arrested by the police for allegedly recording a private video of a young woman in the restroom of the New Everest Point Restaurant in Swayambhu.

The police conducted an investigation into the matter based on the woman’s complaint, following the provisions of the Privacy Act, 2075.

According to Section 16 of the Privacy Act, 2075, capturing photos or videos of someone without permission is prohibited.

Under the influence of alcohol, KC recorded a video and took some photos of the woman in the female restroom adjacent to the male restroom.

The woman checked the CCTV camera at the reception to identify the person, confirming that DSP had taken the photos.

Despite DSP’s attempt to delete the photos, they were easily recovered from the recently deleted items.

The police arrested KC on the same day as the incident.

The case is currently under investigation.
