German national found dead in Nepal’s Kaski district

KATHMANDU: A 21-year-old German national named Pla Josse was discovered dead in Nepal’s Kaski district, sparking an investigation that led to the arrest of her American companion.

She had been missing since Saturday, and her lifeless body was located in the early hours of Sunday by the disaster rescue team of the Armed Police Force.

The discovery took place in Machhapuchchre Rural Municipality-1 Mirsa in Kaski.

The event unfolded during a walk with her American boyfriend, whose identity has not been disclosed by the police.

The American youth reported that the tragic incident occurred when they were returning to Pokhara from Machhapuchhre, stating that she fell from a location known as Bhir.

The local police were alerted on Saturday evening about the fall, prompting the armed police team to launch a search operation immediately.

Responding swiftly, a search and rescue team comprising 15 members was deployed from Gana Kaski of Armed Police Force.

DSP Shailendra Thapa, co-spokesperson of the Armed Police Force, stated that efforts were underway to retrieve the girl’s body from the cliff using a rope.

In the wake of the girl’s demise, the American youth has been taken into custody by the police for further investigation.
