KATHMANDU: Today (Thursday) marked the coldest day of the year in Kathmandu Valley, as the minimum temperature dropped to 3 degrees Celsius at 8:45 am, according to the Weather Forecasting Division.
This recorded minimum temperature is the lowest observed in the Valley so far in the current year.
Previously, on January 22, the lowest minimum temperature of the year was recorded at 3.2 degrees Celsius in the Valley.
However, today’s temperature has surpassed that, making it the new record for the lowest temperature this year.
As the mercury continues to dip, the morning air has become intensely cold, providing a chilly start to the day.
It’s essential to note that the lowest temperature in a 24-hour period is referred to as the minimum temperature of that day, measured at 8:45 am, while the highest temperature is termed the maximum temperature, recorded at 5:45 pm.
