Balkot murder: Elder son arrested, confesses to killing father and brother



KATHMANDU: Milan Acharya, the eldest son of Kul Prasad Acharya, the acting chief of the District Postal Office in Khotang, has been arrested in connection with the deaths of his father and younger brother, Praveen Acharya.

The two were found dead on Monday at their rented residence in Balkot, Bhaktapur.

Police arrested Milan on Tuesday morning after he had been missing since the incident.

According to SP Madhav Prasad Budhathoki of the Bhaktapur District Police, Milan is suspected of killing his father and brother.

Police sources revealed that Milan allegedly used a dumbbell, typically used for physical exercise, to attack his father and brother.

Police have stated that Milan confessed to the killings, though the motive remains unclear.
