Minister Yadav stresses govt’s role in ensuring quality water supply

JHAPA: Minister for Water Supply and Sanitation, Pradeep Yadav, emphasized that ensuring access to quality drinking water for all citizens is the government’s primary responsibility.

Minister Yadav made these remarks during an onsite inspection of ongoing water supply projects in various locations across Jhapa today.

During his visit, he reviewed the progress of construction and the challenges faced by the projects. He inspected the under-construction water supply overhead tanks at Mechinagar and Dhulabari, urging the concerned authorities to complete the work on schedule. He stressed the importance of expediting the construction to provide quality drinking water to consumers as quickly as possible.

In a discussion with officials from the Surunga-based Surunga Water Supply and Sanitation Consumers Committee and the Morang Sanischare-based Pathari Water Supply and Sanitation Consumers Committee, Minister Yadav reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting local-level projects.

“It is the government’s primary responsibility to ensure quality water supply for all citizens, and we are working diligently to provide convenient and sustainable services through the formulation of necessary policies and programs,” he stated.

The Minister also visited the Charali-based Small Urban Water Supply and Sanitation Consumer Committee and the Kakarbhitta-based Kakarbhitta Water Supply Consumer Committee in Jhapa. He emphasized the importance of a collaborative approach in addressing challenges related to local water supply improvements.

Additionally, Minister Yadav inspected ongoing fecal waste management and sanitation projects in Jhapa district. He assured that the government is actively addressing water supply issues nationwide and expressed his commitment to improving the situation through strong collaboration with partners at all levels.
