Police fire tear gas at RSP supporters in Pokhara

POKHARA: Tensions escalated in Pokhara as the Kaski District Court granted a seven-day extension for the detention of Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chairman Rabi Lamichhane on Thursday.

In response, RSP workers, who have been protesting since Lamichhane’s arrest, clashed with police, leading to the deployment of tear gas.

As Lamichhane was brought to court, activists gathered outside the restricted area to express their dissent.

Following the announcement of the detention extension, protesters attempted to breach the barriers, prompting police to intervene.

Party workers and supporters shouted slogans in defiance, while police prepared water cannons to manage the crowd.
